Conditions: The Mt. Willard Trail had not been broken-out since the most recent snow. It is now re-broken and is in good shape with only one very minor blowdown.
Also, the Ammonoosuc Around-the-Lake Trail had not been broken out (it appeared that several snow events have passed since this trail had been trodden!!). Although this trail is generally in good shape, there are two blowdowns. One is quite large and is very close to the beginning of this trail. However, you can easily duck under this one. The other blowdown is further down the trail and can easily be stepped over.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, otherwise you will post-hole! Snow depth on both trails approaches mid-calf to knee-deep!!
Comments:
Neither of the above are huge treks of epic proportions like many that are reported on VFTT. However, it was felt they were still worth reporting so that anyone who might be interested may know the condition of these 2 trails (at least as they existed today on 18-Dec!!)
