Date of Hike: 10/24/2008

Trail Conditions: spotty snow almost immediately, but warming temps was melting it. Clear blue skies but got rained on by melting snow in branches overhead. Some patches of ice but nothing youcouldn't step around if you kept watch. A couple minor blowdowns, but no big deal. Any mud prior to Gordon Pond Trail was not wet enough to be a problem. Between Gordon Pond and Wolf and on the north side of Wolf the mud was wetter and deeper. I managed to keep it from going over the top of my boot but came pretty close.

Special Equipment Required: Carried stabilicers, but did not use. Gaiters might be helpful for the mud bogs.

Comments: I hiked past Wolf to bog half way to Reel Brook just to make the hike a little longer (~11+ miles). Bushwhacked to west peak of Wolf to see if anything was there. There wasn't. Views from east peak were only in one direction and getting grown in. I was expecting better from a peak on the "52 With A View" list. This was #41 in that list for me. I didn't see a soul the whole day.
