Date of Hike: 3-13-08
Trail Conditions: Trail conditions have improved since Jim Lombard's hike on Monday. A dusting of new powder down low turned into 5 or 6 inches on the ridge. It is wind blown and drifted, feet deep in places. The good news is that the new snow has covered all of the divergent tracks around the ridge, leaving the true Twinway evident in most places. There were a few question marks, but for the most part, the trail led me straight to the summit sign. I felt very lucky.
The trail beyond the summit sign did not appear to be broken out but I don't believe that anyone planning a Bonds traverse would have any real difficulty getting to/from Guyot.
Special Equipment Required: Bare booted to the hut. Snowshoes therafter.
Comments: A super day! Clear blue skies, warm temps, and little wind. Awesome views. A great way to finish my winter fours. Woohoo!
