Crawford and Webster-Jackson (Jackson Branch) Trails were well-packed and pedestrian, with the surface holding even in the warmth of the afternoon. Webster Cliffs Trail was packed from Pierce summit to Mizpah, then deeply postholed from there to Jackson's summit. In the spirit of leaving the trail the way we found it, one of us, to remain unnamed, who forgot her snowshoes, restored the postholes following Sarah and me on our snowshoes. Fierce fir facials (sorry, slow news day) in that section, too. We took care of the only serious blowdown. Crossings mellow.
We wore traction (Stabilicers and Microspike ST's) up Pierce and down to Mizpah then switched to the footwear mentioned above. Snowshoes recommended between the peaks. From Jackson down, the trail could be bare-booted.
Another beautiful day with some wind but great views from almost everywhere due to the deep snow cover. Fun day.
