Trail Conditions: After all the rain recently everywhere was wet. The rocks were slippy, the roots worse and the mud was extended and boot sucking!
Special Equipment: We were very glad to have poles to help with the water crossings which needed care. No bugs, no sun. Waterproof jackets a help with the sudden downpours.
Comments: We had good views from Tom and Field before it clouded over. It would be a help if there was an arrow pointing to the top of Tom. The trail circles round to a nice viewpoint but misses the top. Had to make a cautious descent from Field as the trail was especially slippery and mucky.
Good day out though, with many hikers on the trails. Three new peaks for Laura who accompanied me with Rory and Finn , the dog.
