Date Hiked: 12-Jun-2008
Trail Conditions: Quite a bit of water from the previous day's rain, a few blowdowns that posed no real issues. Quite a few of the bog bridges are rather rotted, especially on the Avalon trail up to the Mt. Tom spur, and need replacing. The hike between Field and Avalon featured some bog bridges that were so badly rotted the spikes were sticking up about 3-4". No snow, except for a 5sq. ft. patch off to the side of the trail near the top of Willey.
Comments: What a day! Low 60s, dry, sun, clear, light breeze, no bugs! Spent most of the day leap-frogging with two other guys, both of whom were also out doing the same hike solo. Saw about a dozen other people all day.
