Yesterday I completed my first solo Presi traverse. I drive to NH thurday
afternoon and it was raining very hard. I sleep in my van at Appalachia
parking lots and again lots of rain, soo I told my self don't start too early.
At 6:00 am I wake up and it was sunny with a blue sky. I took a fast
breakfast and at 6:30 I was on the trail. thats a late start for me, for the
first 2 miles the trails was very wet. Further the rocks start to been dry
and no more water in the trail. At 8:30 I was at the hut, lots of hiker
overtheir. I summited Madison without probleme and came back at the hut.
In front of the hut lots of clothes was on the ground for drying. A group of
hiker had come to the hut thursday night and they hat lots of rain. I
continued on Gulfside trail until airline trail where I went left and summited
the small peak between Madison and Adam. I went down that peak and went
directly to Adam, lots of steep up and down. Finally I was on Adam at 9:45 and it was windy, sunny and cold. I don't stay for long and I went down in
direction of TS junction. Why not summitted the small peak behing TS, soo
I go. From the summit I went stait line to Edmund Col. Lots of Rock scrambling that bring me to EC. From Edmund col I follow the trail until the
summit of Jefferson (1:00 pm). Easy up and down for Clay and Washington. Like usual lots of people on Washington. I eat one soup and sandwitch (my first meal since breakfast.
I try to hike longer without eat or drink like Oncoman do. I was able to reach
Madison without drink anything and Washington without eat. The soup and
sandwitch was very good, my last meal before Crawford Notch. At 3:30 pm
I continued my hike and it was easy going down to the hut. Going up munroe
was very hard on my legs soo I went slower near the summit. But I keep go
for little munroe and franklin (no more pain in the legs). After Franklin I was
hiking in the trail and suddlently came one blond women that was running.
Did I was dreaming or did it was true, soo I told her ## you are in good shape** she replied ** no I am in out of shape**.
The hike between Franklin and Eisein... seem very long and longer between
Eisein... and Pierce. The view from the summit of Pierce worth the effort.
From their I decided to go down by Crawford Path (it was 7:20 pm) and
skip Jackson and Webster. I hike all the way down very slowly whitout
using my head lamp. I sweat a lots and I took couple of break to refresh in
the water that was coming from lots of brook. Lots of water in the trail.
Finally I was at Crawford Notch at 9:15 pm.
And today my legs and feet are very tired (same thing after every traverse-
my third one).
