Instead of posting separate threads for any of my walks in my hometown, I'll keep them in one thread. I've been on a couple walks since the beginning of spring, and I will post the highlights.

And now, these are from yesterday, 4/16. It was an extremely rainy day, but I just needed to get out. There wasn't much to take for pics, but I did my best.

Exeter river at its beginning

I was unaware that hobblebush was around here. Prob explains why moose are sighted here fairly regularly.

Correct me if I am wrong...but I think these are marsh marigolds...it was just to impossible to take pics at this point...torrential downpours with an occasional slushbomb of snow. :)

Hey Phil . . . local walks are okay in my book. I do a lot of that kind of stuff myself, and will occasionally post them when I think there's something that might be of general interest. The photos that you post of your hikes (be it local, or otherwise) are always interesting to me. Thanks for sharing!

Great shots from yesterday!

Mystery plant = false hellebore, or indian poke.
Marsh Marigolds = correct!

I still have to get to that swamp...maybe this week!

Thanks for the pics!

Thanks! I pretty much post all the photos I take that are hike related, whether people generally care or not. :D If my post gets viewed more than 10 times, then chances are at least one on there finds it mildly entertaining, which is enough for me.

Thanks w7xman! It was one rainy day, that's for sure. I forgot what it was like to walk thru the woods during torrential downpours. If it was 10-15 degrees warmer, it prob would have been much better. I hope you are able to get to the swamp. It is definitely small, but neat nonetheless.

We've been staying close to home for the past few weeks as well. I enjoyed your photos.

Yeah, might as well stay close to home while the snow melts and the mud dries. Glad you like my pics!

5-3-10 Gust Front

A nice burst of wind rolled through about 24 hours ago with that batch of thunderstorms. I came back from a walk, and got my camera as the wind was moving in. The clouds aren't breathtaking, but you can def see some turbulence up there.
