The Basin-Cascades Trail is really pretty - one of my favorites - lots of waterfalls and cool rocks!!! About a half mile up people have made at least a hundred little cairn sculptures in the streambed area- very interesting at first but as you look around it just gets creepy!
All trails in excellent shape - very little mud. There was a good window of hiking today - mostly in the morning. There were good views of the Franconia Ridge from N Kinsman and then things got socked in along the ridge. A few showers, a little sun here and there. All in all, a nice day out there. The "new" Kinsman Pond shelter looks really nice!!!
