June 2nd 2010
Trail conditions: Mostly dry with a few muddy spots. Many blowdowns especially on the lower half of Mt. Kinsman Trail.
Equipment needed: No special equipment
Comments: Beautiful day which made me feel very good about cancelling this hike yesterday! Took our time going up, enjoying the diversion to Bald Knob for a rest. Great views from North and South where we lunched and met up with Snowy, who is training for a 4 State challenge at the end of the June. She hopes to do 43 miles in one day and is raising money for Adaptive Sports programs. We expresed our admiration and wished her the best of luck as she headed off down to the Reel Brook Trail to get in her speedy miles for today. Met a number of other hikers on the trail as well.
Bugs were not bad today. A good day out for
