Hard pack snow with 1" of fresh powder up till Bald Peak cutoff then progressively more soft sofftpacked snow and up to 8" or so of fresh powder. Used microspikes up to Bald Peak cutoff then switched to snowshoes for rest of day. Was very happy to see a set of tracks once I reached the ridge. Great weather all day but latte start (8 AM) cost me a view as the blue skies gave way to clouds by the time I got above tree line. Really great trail maintenance!
