Parked at the end of Little River Rd and took the old railroad grade to the N Twin trailhead..hard packed snow over icy spots..the N Twin Trail and bypass of crossings to the 3rd crossing is again hard packed easy going..not much different once across the river (frozen cross up stream)..only one spot where some drifting snow shortly below the east outlook..great views today of course..N Twin Spur also seemed hard packed with thin layer of blown snow on it (did not have time to head to S Twin)..ran into 15 other hikers (2 skiers going to Hale) who were using a combo of microspikes, snowshoes, and 2 had crampons..trail in great shape...took Haystack Rd out to the snowmachine trail for a change, road was pockmarked and made for rough walking..Lefty E
