Trails: Bushwhack, N. Twin Tr., N. Twin Spur, Twin Way, Frost Tr., Garfield Ridge Tr., Gale River Tr., Gale River Rd., Ski Tr.

Conditions: N. Twin Trail well packed and solid with about 2" of fresh powder. Bushwhacked around the first two crossings. The Third crossing was snow bridged over and solid, with just a small section that was open, but easy to get by. Some barebooted, and others wore spikes to treeline, where we changed to snowshoes and kept them on the rest of the day. The Spur Trail between the peaks was broken out, but not consolidated. Trail was easy to follow. Fresh blazes and good brushing has opened this up (Thanks Mt. Dave). The Twinway from S. Twin down to the hut was not broken out, but the three of us with snowshoes did the best we could. Very easy going in the deep loose snow. One crawl on your belly blowdown on the the Frost Trail to Galehead. Garfield Ridge and Gale River Trail were not broken until down at the first crossing. One nasty bushwhack around blowdown at 3200 ft. on the Gale River Tr. Gale River trail was broken out from the road up to the first major crossing. Lots of moose traffic on the trail. It was a bumpy ride with the lumpy snow and postholes. It turned out to be a fantastic day with not too cold temps, sun, and very little wind. Just a slight breeze on S. Twin. Great day out with Bill Marcotte, and Vinny Coutur.
