Date of Hike: Saturday 08/29/09
Trail Conditions: Nancy Pond Trail well marked and easy to follow, one large blowdown near the trailhead. Nancy pond and Norcross Pond were extremely swollen due to the rains and beaver activity causing an overflow onto the trails.
I wasn't sure what I was looking for regarding the herd path but once I found it, the herd path was obvious. Last 0.5 miles were some of the steepest I've encountered.
Special Equipment Required: It wasn't the brightest decision to hike during a tropical depression in potentially hypothermic conditions but A makeshift trash bag rain poncho was very useful keeping me (somewhat) warm and dry.
Comments: Nancy Cascades are worth a visit. With the rainy conditions and wet weather they were stunning.
