Some dedicated folks have been working in conjunction with the GMC on assembling a great line resource for people who are interested in hiking the Long Trail. It is already a wonderful resource which includes an on line End to Enders guide and a forum, as well as an LT Hikers Network. Rolling Stone, the web master there, is hoping to make the site even better by building an LT Hiker network which can provide ready responses for people who want to hike the Long Trail. I've tried to help and put together a "Q & A" based on my email correspondence as a volunteer Long Trail mentor with the GMC (the Q & A is available if you move your cursor over the "End to End Guide" button) but they need more people to get involved. I'm sure there are people here who have more knowledge about the trail and about backpacking in general than I do.
So, if you've hiked the Long Trail before - please consider going over there and joining the LT Hiker Network and the End to Enders group. Also, if you are thinking about hiking it -please go and bring any trail questions or any tentative plans and ideas you might have. And please let me know of any feedback you have on my Q&A or ideas on the site.
