If you are looking for an expedient and comfortable trail to take to Pinkham Notch from Mt. Washington Summit - Nelson Crag is not it! The significant vertical pitch of this trail is great going up, but a genuine hinderance for trying to make good headway going downhill when there are ANY wet conditions. You're far better off going down the Auto Road (against the traffic) and taking Old Jackson Road 5+ miles down the Auto Rd.
