New Ranger Report - August 2011

DEC has issued its latest Ranger Report. It includes the deaths of two hikers in the High Peaks and the ordeal of two canoeists who lost all their gear, including their shoes, when their canoe capsized in the Cold River. It took them a few days to make their way back to civilization.

Wow, that list is longer than usual, no?

A lot of group separation and 'lost' hikers who could not find the trail.

I just saw an ambulance heading into the ADK Loj Saturday afternoon. Any word on what that might have been?
