I'm one of the two caretakers at Zealand Falls Hut in the WMNF this winter. I had a group of VFTT hikers visit a couple of weeks ago, so I thought that some of you might be interested in the web log I'm keeping to chronicle the season:

"Stumpy" has been known to raid packs left on the porch of Shapleigh house by careless hikers (rumor has it he is found of Swiss-Miss chocolate mix...). Some "raidees" who consider the Highland Center a wilderness experience have been known to blame Stumpy's antics on "giant marauding bears."
