Dean, Eric, Brian, and yours truely set out for a nice little exploring trip of the Purgatory Chasms.
The weather was perfect for a fall hike. Sunny, light wind, and cool.
If you've never been it's a must. There are all sorts of chams or little bolder caves. Some are easier to get in and out of than others. Some are interesting and some are small and not. No matter which way you look at it either from a small cave or from the top of one of the high cliffs like lovers leap the place is really cool.
Mileage is one thing you won't get in the chasm. It about .5 miles long (maybe shorter). You can hike along the other longer loop trails, but there still isn't any big mileage either. The place of interest is the chasm it's self. Great place for lunch with the family.
It was my latest hike with the boys and I think it will start a great tradition of Sunday hikes and montly overnights! Thanks for asking me to go Brian!
