Looking a little early to downsize the pack ;)

Thursday Night:
In and out of the clouds trending towards clearing under partly cloudy skies. Slight chance of rain or snow showers early. Little to no snow accumulations.

  • Low: Upper 20s
  • Wind: NW at 50-70 mph w/ gusts up to 80 mph
  • Wind Chill: Falling to 5 to 15 above

I was on Eisenhower and Monroe today and it was very Fall like with 100 mile visibility. It was very windy though which kept the bugs away 👍. No rime ice and temps in the 50's. The records on MW never surprise me. It's such a unique mountain range that fortunately is mostly right in the middle of the jet stream.

I did Garfield on Friday and the winds were still whipping around 7 AM. I had liner gloves on all the way to the top and at one point had to pull on an extra heavy fleece. Luckily the winds dropped as the morning went on. Hard to beat the visibility no haze to speak of 100 miles for sure.

Leave it to Mount Washington to hit a 5 degree windchill and it's almost July! That's awesome.
I did Cobble Hill and Moody Ledge near Landaff yesterday and it was humid again. Although there was some decent wind which blew the bugs away and cooled me off nicely.
