Nineteen Mile Trail in good shape. Carter Dome Trail had about 4 inches of new snow.Somehow, Sasha, Mark and I get off Carter Dome, and followed a steep bushwash to Zeta Pass. This trail was very icy and covered with blow downs. (I thought hey Bob and Geri, what happened here). Traction was needed here-such as microspikes). We got to Zeta Pass and followed the trail to South Carter with difficulty. Without Mark's GPS, I'm not sure we'd have made it. More unbroken icy snow and many blowdowns. We put snowshoes on here. The views from South Carter were spectacular. Gorgeous, sunny, day. Not a cloud in the sky. Two of us changed our mind about going to Middle Carter and returned.

Also, got to the meet the renowed Wolfgang and Larrisa!

Great hike. 18 more to go on second round of the 48th.
