At trailhead trail was 12" hardpack. Was lightly snowing all day with 2" fresh powder on trail. Steep ascents were icey and undetectable because of the powder. At 3500ft the snowpack was 3-5ft with ice on exposed rock.
Crampons, crampons, crampons. Trail not really suitable for snowshoes. Trail was completely clear of blowdown. All in all a wonderful day of climbing. High winds on summit made for a short stay.
