Date of Hike: Saturday, February 7, 2009
Trail Conditions: Packed powder
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, crampons for steep sections
Comments:
Parked on the side of 112 room for 6-8 cars.
Pine Bend Brook was a 18-24" wide channel well packed 6-12" deep, perfect for MSR's unfortuantely I was forced to bare boot else walk a bulky snowshoe tightrope.
Several stream crossings all with solid snowbridges. One blowdown after the first steep incline and before hitting the ridge. 3-4 hangers that can be ducked under.
Windy on the ridge.
No sign of any recent use of coming from the Livermore road side. Evidence of minor snowshoe use on Sabbaday.
