Trail: Marston Trail
Conditions: Wet - it had rained the day before
Comments:
We were pleased to see some trail work done since the last time we were here. Nice stone step work, some boardwalks before the cutoff to North and a stockpile of material for more boardwalk. We were dismayed in the terrible conditions a mile from the summit. The steep section from the spur was startling as far as the amount of water running down the trail and especially the seriously deep erosion of this trail. We kicked out and added waterbar rocks to one spot on the way up, and that little effort made a notable change by the time we headed back down but this trail is in some serious need of reconstruction, repair, re-routing.
