Trail is as dry as it gets with the many steam crossings, with two blowdowns (one older, the other not-so-old) and much erosion, particularly on the side trail to the peak. Erosion has caused some vegetation to sag into the path making us duck and wiggle through some areas of this stretch. Bugs were fierce in spots, particularly on the summit.
Special equipment needed: industrial strength bug spray, sunscreen (the trail is under cover for the most part but about 20 minutes on the summit cone is out in the open).
Baxter State Park marks their trails well but we almost drove by the trailhead parking lot for this hike. This is a mellow hike with a few steeps, a fitting #67 for Pepp and Mudpuddle!
