Last week I asked this question regarding water on the Carter Moriah Trail...what I should have asked is...

Is there reliabel water on the North Imp Trail and North Carter Trail? Is the stream/brook above the Imp ledges reliable? Planning and up and over to Carter Notch this week and would rather not have to carry all of my water...

Thanks for any help!!

Can't speak for this time of year, but there seemed to be a zillion (OK, five at least) streams between the Imp outlook and North Carter trail at the end of May. Flows looked to be much more than just spring melt but don't hold me to it :)

While there was a certain amount of water on the North Carter trail itself I don't recall any substantial streams.

I am sure other more knowledgable folk will chime in.

You could always carry a gallon of Gatorade like I do...

like I said, on June 23d the N Carter trail was covered in running water most of the way. No info on how reliable that is but it hadn't rained for at least a few days prior to that, and this week's forecast calls for showers.

I hiked that route last weekend. There was running water on the Imp trail, but I didn't see anymore until we came down the Carter Dome Trail.
