Mt. Kearsarge North via Kearsarge North trail May 12,2013
First half mile of the trail was dry with one blowdown (hop over). The clearing (slabby area) was wet and slippery in spots. As the trail steepened the rocks got wetter but overall not an issue; one small patch of ice peeking out between a few rocks.
No special equipment needed.
It poured all the way up Route 16 until we reach Chocorua. Rain stopped, skies cleared and the sun came out allowing for spectacular views on the summit. The bugs found us by the slabs and continued to annoy us until the wind picked up closer to the top. I imagine they will be out in full force in another week.
