Got off to a late start, didn't leave home til 9:30...so was thinking I'd do Mt Tecumsah. Driving north started figuring and figured I could do the Tri's but wouldn't finish before dark! However, the Livermore Rd/Trail would be a good place to try my headlamp for the 1st time!

Arriving @ the livermore trailhead @ noon(48 & sunny) I got an envolope and deposited $3 to park...lots of vehicles/xc skiers!

Headed out on the groomed trail @ 12:28pm. In 40 minutes I was @ the end of the groomed xc ski section and by the South Tri trail after 50 minutes/2.6 miles. 22 minutes later went by jct w/North Tri trail @ sharp left turn on the road, the sign post was there but no sign. Turned onto the Scaur Ridge Trail after 1:17/3.8 miles. As I headed up could see the North slide very well and was glad I hadn't gone that way! Turned right onto the Pine Bent Brook Trail after 2:03/5.0 miles. As I neared the top the trail got steeper for a short ways then onto the Tri Loop Trail just before reaching the North summit in 2:40 for the 5.8 mile climb :)

Stayed for 10 minutes refueling, resting and taking in the few views from the small wooded summit.

Took 24 minutes to reach Middle Tri, where there were much better views :) Ate some more and headed back after a 14 minute break.

Stopped for 3 minutes then headed down off North Tri @ 4:23pm. Without rushing took 44 minutes to get to Livermore Rd/Tr.

Got to beginning of groomed section @ 5:38pm, where I got the headlamp out in case it would be needed. Ended up using it for the last 5 minutes!...and it worked fine :) Arrived @ the trailhead @ 6:24pm. Had taken 5 hours 56 minutes for the 13.2 mile roundtrip, which was much quicker than I had thought :)

Tre trail was packed out and bare bootable the whole way. I'd worn my small snowshoes, which loved carrying xtra snow on the bottoms affording a much better workout :) There were no water crossings. After the 1st 40 minutes I saw no one the rest of the way. This weather is waaay to warm for me!...but the fine views were reeeaaallly great!
