Finally got a chance to do this fantastic loop in/near Evans Notch. We did the standard route, which is Baldface Circle Trail up South Baldface and then North Baldface.
Very, very few bugs out today. No need for bug spray.
Awesome views todays with only a couple of clouds. A bit hot though - 75-80 degrees with high humidity on the ledges I'd say. Most of us took a jump into Emerald Pool on the way down.
Trail in great shape up to North Baldface, but trail down could use a little brushing and could definitely benefit from 6-12 new waterbars/drainage. Wasn't that muddy (gaitors not needed) but there is still room for improvement here.
If you haven't done this hike before, take a break from doing some of the lousier 4000-footers and get it done!
