North Twin / South Twin
Haystack Road / North Twin Trail (with herd path) / North Twin Spur
Date of Hike: 12/07/2013
Trail Conditions: Road was clear, no significant ice until after last crossing of Little River on North Twin Trail (which took some time to find a decent spot to cross) , hard packed snow with icy patches near tree line. No fresh snow up there today.
Special Equipment Required: Micro spikes and/or crampons essential, trekking poles helpful. All gear/clothing for low temperatures and high winds necessary.
Comments: Extra 5 miles with the road, but I felt like walking, did not see anyone all day. Photos/video (and eventually a trip report) can be found here http://brian03104.blogspot.com/2013/12/12072013-north-twin-south-twin.html
