Hi Everyone
I would like to pass on to everyone what is happening here in the north country with the Cohos Trail. We have been sitting up here waiting for the State of NH to complete the recreation plan for the Connecticut Lakes Region. That is complete and we have been given the go ahead to begin finishing the trail system and getting it off of RT 3. We will begin (weather permitting) with the reroute of the Ben Young Hill Trail in Clarksville and the all new trail through the Deadwater region. This will by-pass a large section of road walking. The next section will be the Lake Francis Trail which has no signage or blazing. The state wants us to go slow and ensure that everything is done by the book. This trail concept is very new to the residents up here and we want to ensure that the trail is here for generations to come. We do have the support of the state, Lyme Timber Company and many landowners.
Wish us luck and we hope to see you up this way sometime.
Currently, we are still under about 4' of snow!!! Hopefully it will melt quickly and we won't get too late a start.
We are currently looking to fill two board postions. If you or any one you know are interested, please get in touch with us.

Since this isn't a trail conditions report, I'll move this to the Q&A New England forum. Welcome aboard.

Good to see you here.

It'll be great that Cohos trail questions can be now be answered by a proper authority on the subject. :)

For those interested, while following a NHPTV link someone posted recently, I happened across some of NHPTV's notes and photos about the Cohos trail on the Yankee Notebook.

Not sure if this is covered elsewhere, but I have heard recently that the Cohos trail folks are looking to re-open the trail to Deer Mountain.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Thanks,

Bill
