The New York Times has a article aimed for the rich on Banff. It's trite, and there's no mention of climbing, but if you're bored, it'll kill a few minutes.

When we went to the C. Rockies, we camped and backpacked the whole time. Banff can be affordable if you rough it.

We must be wealthier than I thought, though- I got a bowl of chili for $12 at the Num Ti Jah Lodge. It didn't seem so shee-shee foo-foo to us!

Okay, I'm bored at work today, so I hopped onto their website to check. A bowl of chili at Moat Mountain in North Conway costs $5.95. From that perspective, paying twice the price doesn't seem like any great bargain.

If the restaurant wasn't chi-chi, then it makes it even less justifiable. Maybe you are rich, wardsgirl! Someone has to be.
