Our group of five had dwindled to three due to the snowstorm and poor driving conditions. Then we had some additional complications meeting up at the trailhead, which led to a late 10:50 start! In hindsight it would have been even better if we'd started a little later as the skies were clearing only on our way down.

A light snow fell on us as we made our way to the steeps. The up up up we went. Snowshoes all the way to the east peak where we enjoyed a snack. Some other hikers came through on their way back down and reported that crampons would work well for the trip over to Osceola, so we changed footwear and left our packs for the short trip over to the main peak.

Unfortunately there were no views from the top on Osceola, which is such a shame. However, as we made our way back to East the sun was starting to come out a little and we caught some nice views. Grabbed our gear where we had left it and headed on our way. Some butt sliding ensued...

Finished up this short but steep hike and headed for the Common Man. Thanks to Peter and Brian for a great day out. Pics here: Osceolas

We've made to East Osceola, but getting across to Osceola has been elusive. Maybe this winter. Great pics with fine company!

Nice short TR for a nice short(ish) hike. All in all it was a very pleasant day with both of you. Thanks for introducing me to the Common Man, too--my new favorite place!

Great pictures, too, despite the lack of visibility. I didn't look tired in any of them!:D
