It poured all night long and all morning but thankfully the weather cleared in the afternoon so I got a late start up for just the Osceolas. I did the whole hike in microspikes. It was a little soft down below the climb. The glissaders have left a super smooth surface for the climb up E Peak so thankfully it was soft enough I could kick in steps but using a rest step definitely slowed me down. I wound up plunge stepping on the descent to try to create more footholds for people ascending.
The trail was a little soft heading over to the main peak and I could have swapped to snowshoes but the postholing was very minor. The chimney is drying out so although there's some ice as long as it's above freezing I'd definitely leave the crampons at home, there's plenty of snow, rock, and good hands. Oh and the big crossing down low still is bridged but even if it weren't the flow is still low that it would be hoppable.
