It was a really beautiful day out despite the trail conditions. The trail was solid ice from the countless hikers who packed down the snow, the snow melted then refroze turning the whole path into a sort of glacier. It was literally a sheet of ice from the parking lot to the hotel (and probably further but I had to turn around due to time constraints). Thank god for Micro Spikes though, they make the hike completely enjoyable and simple. I will say that it was very windy with brisk temps along with good views.
