Date of Hike: Sat. 02-13-10
Trails: Lincoln Woods, Black Pond Bushwhack, Lincoln Brook, Brutus Whack, Owls Head Path.
All trails and whacks firmly packed out. Water crossings all bridged over. Bare booted to base of Brutus Bushwhack and put snowshoes on for the climb. We adjusted the bushwhack on the way back down to avoid the steeps and take better advantage of the gully and skidder road. So there's a choice to take on the way up. They all get you to the same place. All trails and whacks can be bare booted. Traction helpful on the steeps.
Surprised that we only saw one other hiker today on such a beautiful day. We did see other snow shoes tracks coming in on the way out. May have missed them when we made our new bushwhack path.
