Arrived in parking lot 7:30 AM
Felt kind of lazy, so I sat and contemplated the meaning of my existence until about 8:30 and finally left the empty parking lot just before 9:00 AM

Wilderness and Black Pond trails are packed rock hard. Someone has gone and painted big ugly orange blotches on every other tree on the bushwhack, and what’s worse its not at all a good route, it hits the riverbank on Lincoln Brook at least a half mile too soon then proceeds to absolutely struggle along it for the remainder of the distance. The Lincoln Brook trail was bare-bootable PAST the bottom of the slide, which I reached a bit before 12:00. Not sure if the last pack of folks passed it intentionally or if they were lost. Had to bushwhack around to find the slide and from there it was very rough going all the way to the summit. Absolutely no trace of a trail on the ridge line and I assume that my tracks will be drifted over soon. Be ready to bushwhack for the last half mile to make the summit. From the bottom of the slide up this was a VERY difficult hike. If you can find the bottom of the slide crampons are probably best as there is both ice and powder, above it snowshoes are a must. I hadn’t seen a soul all day when I reached Lincoln Woods at about 5:00.
