Hikes with Hannah

Few inches of new snow but easily packed all the way from Lincoln Woods through Black Pond and the bushwhack all the way to the base of the Brutus bushwhack. Snow depths increased to the ridge, and we broke trail in about 12+" from the old summit to the new summit. Quick descent with perfect conditions for butt-sliding, and an uneventful hike out got us to Lincoln Woods right around dusk. Made the trek in about 9.5 hours.
Hannah had a great day and was a real trooper - needed her winter weather layering but stayed warm the whole hike and was happy with lots of treats from multiple new friends.
Of course these conditions will change with the recent snow, but yesterday was a decent day for this hike - not too cold, mostly overcast with a few flurries and very little wind.
BIG THANK YOU to Tim, Val, Mark, Eric and Madison for a fantastic hike - didn't think I was going to get OH done this early on my winter list, but they picked good routes for the bushwhacks and were great company the entire hike. Now just need to make it up Carrigain to finish round 2 for the 4k's!!
