Lauky and I headed out today to bag Owl's Head.

The trail was broken out all the way to the top and twelve more (not together--five Pairs and one other soloist besides myself) went up there today.

There are a few old blowdowns at the beginning of the whack at Black Pond. Otherwise, the whack pretty well takes you around any obstacles.

There is a major split in the whack at the end of Black Pond. We went with the more packed out of the two which meant going left. On the Brutus whack there is also a split after the ravine. Again we went with the better broken out of the two which in that case meant going right. There are a couple of blowdowns on that whack but all in all it's a pretty good trail.

The only really tight spot on the whole hike is on the section between the old and new summits and that section wasn't at all difficult.

Up on the top I saw no signs of any tracks coming up from the slide.

It was a beautiful day today and fairly mild except right on top where it was a bit windy and nippy.

I was very happy today that Lauky was able to bag this peak with me. He was too for that matter. :)
