Date of Hike: 1/9/10
Trail Conditions: Hard packed snowshow highway from start to finish, snow bridges intact - crossings not a problem, a couple downed trees right past the end of the black pond trail, large one down near summit but crawlable.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes and usual full winter gear for single digit temps. Map and compass (see below).
Comments: Had planned a "scouting" trip to check out the Black Pond BW but made the summit thanks to the legs and compass bearings of the two groups (10 and 4) who had broken trail ahead. Thanks - sincerely. I was going to OH regardless, but it made an overall much easier day than one would expect.
