Date of Hike: August 2-3.
Trail Conditions: Muddy. Difficult river crossings, especially Franconia Brook (due to rain).
Special Equipment Required: sandals to cross some of the brooks, and rope to tie the members of the party together to cross Franconia Brook.
Comments: I found Franconia Brook to be nearly impassable. Owl's Head was probably the toughest 4000-footer I have ever done.
