Paradox Sports is a non-profit organization that provides inspiration, opportunities and adaptive equipment to the disabled community, empowering their pursuit of a life of excellence through human-powered outdoor sports. Paradox Sports was created by an eclectic group of individuals with a common desire to integrate the physically disabled into the outdoor community. To further expand the roll of Paradox Sports in the North East, Paradox Sports will be providing adaptive training to the disabled community across the region with the goal of developing a community around outdoor recreation and giving disabled athletes a forum to share skills and ideas. Paradox also endeavors to create linkages among able-bodied climbers and the disabled community to redefine "disability."
Modeled after the annual Paradox Sports Ice Climbing Weekend in Ouray, CO we seek to offer a world-class adaptive ice climbing clinic for disabled athletes. We will demonstrate the specialized equipment and techniques necessary to give "disabled" athletes an opportunity to challenge themselves in a sport they may not have thought possible given their physical limitations.
Paradox Sports would like to say a huge thank you to Sierra Club Mission Outdoors Military Families and Veterans Initiative and The North Face Explore Fund for underwriting part of this program.
