Partway up Mossy Cascade Trail 1/15

Nice afternoon walk on a chilly day (temp about 3F). Passed a friendly group who were on their way down. We only walked up to the 2000' level to check out the interesting topography there. Very little snow. Low down, trail was crunchy ice with an occasional inch of snow. The most we walked in at 2000' on a lee slope was about 5". Hillsound Trail Crampons were the right equipment for the day, both on and off trail.
