Hi Folks, I realize that posting hikes before they occur has become "passe" on VFTT of late but what the heck. If anyone is interested in the Whiteface Passaconaway loop via Downes Brook/Sleeper/Rollins up and the abandoned Downes Slide Trail coming down, I will be doing it with a couple of folks this Sunday 7/31.
For those who havent done it, the abandoned slide trail starts out in the woods quite steeply and eventually transitions to open slabs with a few water cascades thrown in for fun. If for some reason things dont dry out as predicted, there is a alternative route via trail down if we do a short car spot.
I am not fast but do get where I need to go.
