We went camping with some friends and family this weekend at Groton State Park in Groton, Vermont. If you haven't been there, you should go! There are three pond you an camp at, two of which are remote camping areas with no road access. All three have resident Loons. My brother-in-law calls Groton Pond the Dead Sea, because he's never caught anything in there, but I've heard Kettle Pond and Osmore Pond are good fishin'. The latter are the remote camping area ponds. This area has tons of nice hiking trails for all levels of ability. On Saturday a group of us took a hike to Peacham Bog with the kids. We had to be back to meet some people at the campsite, so we didn't get too far, but we made it to the edge of the bog, and saw TONS of Pitcher plants. The kids had a great time, despite the insane amount of deer flies. view slideshow here

Great sounding trip for your family!

Your kids will always remember their neat trip to Peacham Bog and the pitcher plants. We took our kids family camping quite a bit, and they still remember those neat trips! Keep it up! :)
