First part of the trail is very wet -you have to canoe or kayak across Paradox Lake from the campsite boat launch to get to the real trailhead. Once on the north shore of the lake, the trail starts right up hill, levels out for a mile, and then gets fairly steep. The total climb from the lake is about 1000 feet, but 600 of the climb is in the last half mile. Most of the trail was dry with little blowdown. My wife and I had the trail to ourselves. There were some good views from the top which would be better after the leaves are down.
