Date of Hike: Saturday, March 15th
Trail Conditions:There was a dusting of snow down low and up to 8" of new snow up on top from Friday night. We went to snow shoes about half way up Peekamoose and keep them on all day. We left the trail on the top of Table and found the snow very supportive all the way to Rocky. On our return, we bypassed the top of Table and contoured to the Col.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes essential, crampons carried and not used. The small amount of ice was mostly soft.
Comments: Laurie and I got very wet from the melting snow dripping off the trees. It was a challenge to stay comfortable. The route finding went very well as the compass bearings worked out great. We also had a visual of the next peak often. We rarely saw the tracks from last week's hiker but he must have worked hard because they were deep. We probably had much better conditions. 10 hours total. The sun accompanied us on our walk out which improved our spirits and wet clothes a lot.
