Firm base with a few inches of powder from Loj to Marcy Dam to Phelps trail. From Van H/Phelps trail junction to summit, about 12-18 inches of fresh powder over relatively firm base (base difficult to locate at times) and intermittent ice with localized 2-3 foot drifts. From Van H/Phelps trail junction to summit took this party of one 2-1/2 hours.
Snowshoes required. Crampons not needed.
Sorry for the maze of trails at the summit. The snow-laden trees made it difficult to navigate to the summit ledge.
