Trail Conditions: quite good & pretty dry considering the rain the day & evening before.
Special Equipment Required: Water, a better memory and fitness regime. It felt much easier 17 years and 40 pounds ago.
Comments: Optional - A great day, cool and dry, a banner day. Lot was pretty full for a Monday at the HPIC. Made decent time to the dam and the new bridge below what's left of the dam. Above the dam, part of the Van was rerouted since my last Marcy trip (just a few years ago & likely due to Irene as the new footpath looked pretty new, still dirt covered & this may be the most used trail in NY) The spur up Phelps was harder than I recalled and you could see a few places where Irene had played havoc in & near the trail. The view was as great as I remembered though.
