OK, so I have been a bit slacking at posting photos from my smaller hikes this year. I finally got organized and put together a few albums. Maybe now I'll actually get my website updated! Yea, right.

This album is from a short hike up Moosilauke that VSA and I went on in March. It was her first time above treeline with snow. It was typicaly Whites in early spring - beautiful, cold and extremly windy:

This next trip was a first for both of us. In the early summer, we did a Castle Ridge/Castle Ravine loop in the northern Presis. The weather was nice, and the hike was very interesting. We enjoy steep downhills, but if you don't, I recommend doing this loop in the opposite direction:

This album was taken at the 7.05 Gathering in Woodstock. Our group was, um..., a little slow to get going in the morning. However, we did make the summit of Moosilauke and did get to the Woodstock Station in time for a beer. The next day, I took VSA on her first trip up Tuckerman's Ravine. We then crossed the flatlands and headed down Boott Spur:

Finally, this album was taken this past Sunday. We were originally going to head up to King Ravine, but the weather was just too nice, and we could not pass up Franconia Ridge on such a beautiful day. We did the standard loop, up OBP and down falling Waters, but this was anything but a standard day, views-wise. This was my best non-winter day on this loop:

Until the next trip....

Wow - you really did get up to Moosilauke 3-1/2 hours late!

Glad you made it to the Woodstock, though. Looks like a great summer ... what's on tap :D for the winter?

Pretty sure that last link should be:

...

Hey, what did you do, digitally erase the crowds from the ridgeline?! :)

Thanks for the catch, ETE. I fixed the link in my original post. As for the crowds, the key is a late start (around Noon) and lots of lounging on the ridge. We got down at 6:00 just in time to catch Darren and Carmel at the Station for a brew.

As for winter, I'll be working on my 48 list for sure.

Hay Chomp. It's good to see your pictures again. It's been awhile.

I like the pictures from the Castle Ridge/Castle Ravine hike. I brought back good and bad memories.

We hiked up Jefferson via the Caps Ridge Tr. The good memory is going down the Castle Tr. The bad memory was going back to the Caps Ridge Tr. via the Link. The Link was very wet and majority of the trail was angled to the right. I do believe that was the worst trail I've ever been on.

Hopefully I'll see you sometime this winter.
